Meet Jeleata Nicole, a passionate full-time mixed media artist based in Charleston, with roots deeply embedded in Philadelphia. With a specialization in oil painting and portraiture, Nicole has cultivated a unique artistic style that captures the essence of individuals in a captivating and expressive manner.
From an early age, Nicole discovered her deep affinity for the arts, and her lifelong journey of exploration and learning has shaped her artistic voice. With over 23 years of experience and an insatiable appetite for growth, she continues to expand her knowledge and skills, discovering new techniques and styles that enrich her artistic repertoire.
Her talent and dedication have garnered significant recognition, including numerous prestigious awards for her exceptional artistic skills. Her work can be found in Private Collectors, Country Clubs, Philadelphia City Hall, and even museums like the Trinity Church of Boston alongside artists like Kehinde Wiley. As a testament to her creativity and impact, Nicole was honored to be selected to create artwork for the Democratic National Convention, showcasing her ability to convey powerful messages through art.
Beyond accolades and achievements, she continues to exemplify her commitment to making a positive difference in her community. Responding to the call for social justice, she was entrusted with the responsibility of creating and executing three Black Lives Matter murals in her hometown of Pennsylvania. These murals stand as poignant symbols of unity and advocacy, using art as a catalyst for change. But artistry alone does not define Jeleata Nicole. She also is an active advocate for Compassion International, a church-based charity focused on helping children facing poverty. Her involvement reflects her unwavering belief in the transformative power of art and its ability to uplift and inspire those in need.
